There are a few certainties in this here life, the sun will rise, night will follow, the public will always mess up any chance they’re giving to vote on anything and at the start of November, you’ll be bombarded with the sweet sights and sounds of everyone’s favourite religious festival, Christmas! Now, I absolutely love Christmas, love it to bits, my absolute favourite part is going round telling everyone how I cant quite possibly believe how fast Christmas has come around yet again, real top conversational content, that and all that hardcore eating I get to do. Boy do I get my kicks from eating.
Like a wise man bearing gifts, I’ve got you all something, I know I know, I shouldn’t have, my present you you this year, and to get you all in the festive mood, is one of the finest Christmas playlists known to human kind. Sure, there are around 18 billion other festive playlists on Spotify, but, are they all good to run to? Absolutely not! Like an unwanted pile of sprouts I’ve removed all the soppy slow songs out of this one, because its hard to get a post-mulled wine sweat on to the dulcet tones of Bing Crosby’s White Christmas. Hopefully these tracks will roast your chestnuts over the mild December mornings as your dashing through your town like a one horse open sleigh. So, go get your festive running kit on, dust off your Santa hat, its time to step into Christmas.
The playlist comes to a climactic close with the atmospheric In Dulci Jubilo by Mike Oldfield, which is not only a fantastically festive tune, it was, as any London 2012 geeks will know, played during the Olympic Opening Ceremony to soundtrack the celebrations of the incredible work carried out by this nations NHS and GOSH staff. So a big shout out, Merry Christmas, and a huge thank you, to all those working away from their families this Christmas to keep our NHS and Emergency Services running.
Merry Christmas, Joy to the World, Feliz Navidad. x
